Future Family Life Program

Welcome to the Future Family Program page at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. We are thrilled to share the exciting progress of our program as we work towards meeting the needs of our growing parish family.

Future Family Life Program History:

On February 27, 1916, Sacred Heart of Jesus parish was established as a second Catholic congregation in Marshfield. Two buildings were erected: a parsonage (rectory) and a second building that encompassed a school, church, Sister house, and a hall. Our first Mass was joyously celebrated on Christmas Eve in 1916, marking the beginning of our faith-filled journey together.

Over the years, our parish community thrived. By 1922, the school building had become overcrowded, prompting the construction of St. Hubert’s Convent in 1924. This expansion provided additional classrooms to accommodate our growing number of students.

A significant milestone in our history occurred in 1932 when the cornerstone for our beautiful church was laid on June 19. On November 11 of the same year, the church was dedicated, becoming a sacred space that has served as the spiritual heart of our community.

The Future Family Life Program (FFLP):

To secure a vibrant future for our parish family, we launched the Future Family Life Program (FFLP). Our primary goal is to foster the continued growth and well-being of our community. This program encompasses three distinct phases:

Phase 1: We successfully installed a new heat source for the church building, replacing the aging boiler system located in the school basement.

Phase 2: The old school building has been demolished, creating new opportunities for future endeavors.

Phase 3: We are excited to announce that we have secured the majority of the necessary funds to begin construction on our new parish hall. This hall will serve as a dynamic hub for community activities, gatherings, and events.

Groundbreaking Celebration:

On a momentous day, Sunday, May 14th, 2023, we joyfully celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for our new parish hall. This significant milestone marked the beginning of the construction phase, where our vision will transform into a physical reality. The groundbreaking ceremony was a special occasion that united our parish family and signaled our commitment to building a bright future together.

As we move forward, we gratefully acknowledge that the challenges posed by the pandemic are now behind us. With the generous support of our parishioners and the community, we have secured the necessary funds to advance the construction of our new parish hall. This space will provide countless opportunities for fellowship, growth, and spiritual nourishment.
